Joint museum idea...

Joint museum idea THE possibility of a joint museum and tourist information centre in Kirkby Lonsdale has been mooted by town councillors.

At a meeting on Wednesday, Coun Roger Taylor said a place to collect and house artefacts, memorabilia and old photographs depicting the history of the quaint market town would benefit locals and visitors alike.

Members agreed to look into using premises beneath the town library and also to look at the possibility of running a museum alongside a TIC after a South Lakeland District Council overview and scrutiny committee recommended that the town's TIC close.
