JAPANESE-owned Futaba Tenneco has just installed a 1500 tonne press at its Burnley factory which is believed to be the most modern in the UK.
The company, which manufactures exhaust systems, was previously known as Tenneco Automotive before it was taken over by the Futaba corporation in November last year.
The new transfer press, which is capable of making car chassis, is part of a major investment programme at the Liverpool Road operation which employs around 200 people.
The company manufactures exhausts and other car parts for Toyota.
