ONE of the oldest churches in the Darwen area is celebrating its 339th anniversary on Sunday.
Tockholes United Reformed Church dates back to 1662 and there will be a special service in the church at 2pm to mark its anniversary.
The preacher will be the Rev Robert Parker, of Macclesfield, and soloist will be John Bannister, of Sedbergh. Visiting organist is Alison Elliott.
On Saturday there will be a coffee morning in the village hall, starting at 10.30am. There will be home-made cakes, a fancy goods stall, and tombola and a raffle.
Admission is 75p, which will include coffee and biscuits.
