DARWEN Morris Dancers want help to ensure their home show stays in town.
The successful troupe is set to host a competition for nearly 400 people on September 9 and the only venue big enough in Darwen is the leisure centre.
Secretary Sandra Jackson said: "Darwen Morris Dancers is a totally self funding group for local girls. Unfortuately the cost of hiring this venue is beyond our means so we are asking local firms if they would like to sponsor the competition.
"We do feel that our group portrays a very good image for Darwen and so we would, if at all possible, like to hold our competition in the town."
M & G Plastics of Progress Mill, Marsh House Lane, has already offered £100 to the group.
Anybody else who would like to help should ring Toni Dineen on 01254 775575 during working hours.
