Albion chairman Tony Bloom is backing new head coach Graham Potter to take the step up to the Premier League in his stride.
Potter was announced as former boss Chris Hughton's successor today and brings with him his backroom team from Championship side Swansea.
Potter, who turned 44 today, will work alongside assistant head coach Billy Reid, first team coach Bjorn Hamberg and Kyle Macaulay, who will be assistant head of recruitment.
Hughton was axed a day after the Premier League closed and Bloom revealed Potter, who has been handed a four-year deal, has been on Seagulls' radar for some time.
Bloom said: "As is always the case with the game as unpredictable as it is, as a club we constantly track potential head coaches so, if and when a change does occur, we can act very quickly and narrow down our preferred candidates.
"Graham Potter quickly stood out as the outstanding candidate. He is one coach we have been aware of for over four years now.
"We have been very impressed with the work he did at Ostersund and recently Swansea, where with limited resources Graham has produced teams with high performances levels and an attractive playing style with great spirit.
"We believe he and his team have the right combination of coaching experience and man management skills to make the step up to the Premier League.
"We were obviously very keen to ensure Graham was here at the earliest opportunity to review and provide input to our player recruitment plans as well as to oversee from the outset our pre-season preparations. We're delighted to have achieved that."
