PLAY-OFF chasing Wigan will have to be armed and ready if they are to overcome bottom club Salford, according to Phil Veivers.

Warriors, two points behind sixth-placed Huddersfield, know they must beat Super League's basement club to keep alive their play-off hopes.

"It's baseball bats at the ready," said the Aussie No2. "We expect them to have a real tough hit out against us and we've got to combat that."
