ROQUE Santa Cruz took his tally to seven goals in four games as Rovers ended Manchester City's perfect run at Eastlands tonight.

Blackburn ended a streak of three defeats with a deserved draw after coming from behind twice.

Santa Cruz scored with two headers from David Bentley deliveries as Mark Hughes' men showed some real battling spirit after the break.

City took the lead on 21 minutes through a Darius Vassell header after winger Martin Petrov set him up.

Santa Cruz then levelled with a header a minute later.

But City regained the lead when Petrov drove the ball across the box, and Ryan Nelsen turned it into his net.

After the break, Rovers brought on Benni McCarthy, and looked dangerous.

And with eight minutes to go, the equaliser came in controversial circumstances.

Bentley's corner was nodded in by Santa Cruz, but the linesman flagged for an offside on David Dunn.

But he then changed his mind, deciding that Dunn didn't interfere with play, and referee Howard Webb gave the goal.
