CHORLEY manager Tony Hesketh revealed he is considering Mike Eckersley’s future at Victory Park following the midfielder’s ‘stupid’ red card in midweek.
Eckersley – the first of two Magpies players dismissed in Tuesday’s 1-0 home defeat to Curzon Ashton – was sent off for foul and abusive language towards the referee.
Hesketh criticised the display of the official, who he insisted ‘ruined the game’, but reserved his condemnation for Eckersley, who is awaiting a possible four-game ban after racking up two red cards and more than half a dozen cautions this term.
“I’m having to think about Mike’s future at this club,” said Hesketh. “After the game, I said I’d give myself 72 hours before making a decision on him – and I’m still thinking about it.
“His overall disciplinary record is poor.”
