Chorley had a bad day as Lancashire Colts visited Windsor Park and went away with a 101-run win.

The side of up and coming players from the Lancashire Cricket Board’s Academy – and a few older heads like skipper Jason Swift – batted first and racked-up 214-9.

Top scorer was Liam Watkinson, the son of Lancashire director of cricket Mike Watkinson, who made 76, while Liam Jackson hit 54.

Billy Smith claimed four wickets for Chorley, while Kieran McCullagh impressed again with a couple of victims.

Chorley were up against it from the moment professional JJ Smuts was removed for just 13 and while Jack Catterall made 31, Chorley slumped to 113 all out with Tom Bailey claiming 5-18.
