LAST year Hyndburn AC represented the borough at the Lancashire Sports awards evening after they were voted Hyndburn’s Community Club of the Year.

Recently they held their own well attended awards evening at the Poplar Club in Accrington when the club recognised those who had contributed so much during the 2009 season.

Their athletes continue to take part in all the local leagues, with the winter season being largely devoted to cross country.

Their stand out performer was Alexa McTiffin who ended the season fourth U11 in both the Red Rose and Mid Lancs League.

Their success was recognised on the night when the Mid Lancs track and field team won the team of the year award.
