Accrington Road Runners gave their athletes a rare chance to sample track and field competition when they staged a Track Night at Wilson Playing Fields.
No fewer than 45 members accepted the challenge and they were divided into three teams to provide a competitive element.
On offer were the 100m, 200m, 800m, javelin, shot and long jump, with officials from Hyndburn Athletic Club on hand to offer their expertise.
Afterwards, the evening was rounded off with a pie and pea supper at the Millhouse in Clayton-le-Moors. For the record, the Reds were declared the winners.
