Claire Kirkham, a teacher at Crompton House School in Shaw, Oldham is organising a 10K race and 4K Family Fun Run from the school on Sunday, December 16.
The Crompton House Christmas Cracker will raise money for Claire to take 12 pupils to Kenya for a month to do volunteer work in two primary schools.
In 2003, the Kenyan Government made primary education free, but there are insufficient funds available as enrolment increased overnight from 100 to 600.
