CHORLEY Ladies winning run is over but they still remain unbeaten after drawing 2-2 with Tranmere Rovers.

The hard-earned point ended Chorley’s 11 straight victories stretching back to the start of the season.

It was Chorley’s first game for seven weeks due to the weather and Christmas break and it showed as they were rusty and off the pace.

Rovers opened the scoring after capitalising on some hestitant defending from the home side.

The goal stirred Chorley into action and they were soon on level terms when the ever reliable Vicky Coope rounded off a fine move with a well struck shot into the bottom corner of the net.

The teams went in 1-1 at the break but Rovers regained the lead just two minutes after the restart when Chorley failed to clear a free kick and the ball fell to the visitor’s striker who drilled the ball home.

Chorley thought they had equalised again when Natalie Parry’s free kick hit the underside of the bar and appeared to have bounced down over the goalline but the referee waved played on.

However, justice was done deep into injury time when Coope scored her second goal of the game after some great approach play by Janet Dawson and Kay Unsworth.
