BURNLEY have today parted company with defender Leon Cort.
Cort joined Charlton Athletic on a season-long loan in August, but has now had the remainder of his Clarets contract at Turf Moor terminated by mutual consent.
The central defender became Brian Laws' first signing when he arrived from Stoke City in January 2010, on a three-and-a-half year deal.
He made 15 appearances during the second half of the Clarets' 2009/10 season in the Premier League.
However, the 32-year-old has played just a handful of games since then, having spent a spell on loan with Preston North End last season.
