A Cricket club has been given a cash boost of £500 to buy new equipment so it can run coaching sessions in schools.
Hyndburn Council gave Church Cricket club the cash from its ‘cabinet action fund’.
Coun Judith Addison, presenting the £500 cheque, said: “The club offers 280 hours worth of coaching sessions at local schools including St Mary’s, Hyndburn Park, St Nicholas, Hippings, Heathlands and West End.
“They provide an excellent service to the children of our community and the coaching is proving so popular that the club needed more equipment.”
Phil Sykes, from the club, said: “This money will really help us to help get more children engaged in cricket.”
