FIGHTERS from Audley ABC went up against boxers from seven other countries when took part in the famous Hvidovre Box Cup in Denmark.

The four tackled 250 fighters from Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Southern Ireland, South Africa, Cyprus and England.

First to box in Ring 2 was 12 year old Hassan Khan in the under 40Kg Final against a lad called Hakim Hirsi from Rapid Boxing Club Sweden.

Hassan did really well against a tall and long range opponent, but had to settle for loss on a judges unanimous points decision and received the silver medal.

Naheem Chaudry, 15, was next up in the under 60 Kg class final against Pavlos Ntatids from Cyprus boxing Club. Naheem was not able to enter the Junior ABA’s at home so had something to prove, he boxed extremely well against a very cagey opponent, the contest was evenly poised but Naheem had to pull something out of the bag to make sure he was not going home without the gold medal.

But he unleashed a devastating right hand to the body to put Ntatids down and take gold.

Waqar Khan was also a winner in the under 54 Kgs final and beat Setar Shamsudin from Roskilde bokseklub, Denmark, in his first open class 3x3 minute round fight.

And there was under 81kg glory for was 16-year-old Mohammed Akhtar, who beat Anders Ghanoum, from Ornen Nakskov Bokesklub, taking the result 5-2 to make it three golds and one silver from the event.
