ACCRINGTON Stanley are growing increasingly optimistic of an imminent end to the club's ownership struggle after an agreement was finally reached between all parties.
Eric Whalley agreed to relinquish his major shareholding in Stanley a month ago and it is understood that managing director Dave O'Neill has also now come to an agreement to cut his ties with the club after lengthy negotiations with chairman Ilyas Khan.
The club are hopeful that the deal could now be completed within the next two or three days, although the relevant contracts are yet to be signed by all of the parties involved.
As part of a takeover deal agreed two years ago Whalley’s shares are due to be transferred to O’Neill, who will immediately pass on the stake.
