BURNLEY fans were given the chance to meet their football heroes yesterday in an open day at Turf Moor.

Supporters watched the team being put through their paces ahead of a pre-season tour of Italy.

The event took place in and around the ground and also featured activities for children including a fun fair.

A climbing wall was set up while visitors also enjoyed taster sessions for sports including gymnastics, athletics, rugby and martial arts.

Dean Ramsdale, the club's leisure, community and development manager, said: "It represented a good opportunity for people to come along and see what goes on at their club throughout the year.

"They were able to try some of our activities while Burnley's leisure and community team gave fans a taste of what they get up to with cheerleading sessions, speedball shoot-outs, healthy lifestyle events and exercise demos including spinning and Tae Bo.

Music was provided by local bands Columbia, Everstrong and The Rising.
