ENGLAND lost opener Alastair Cook in the first hour as they batted first under leaden skies at Trent Bridge in the first Test with Pakistan.
Cook was caught at slip by Imran Farhat of a wickedly swinging Mohammad Aamer delivery for just eight with the score on 42.
Andrew Strauss, who had won the toss and chosen to bat, and Jon Trott are the not out batsmen.
