SAM Allardyce has not given up on resurrecting Andranik Teymourian’s Premier League career despite the Iranian midfielder opting out of Rovers’ tour to Australia.
While Rovers’ board are working hard on bringing a new striker to the club, negotiations are also believed to be ongoing with Teymourian’s representatives about extending his time in East Lancashire.
The former Bolton and Fulham man impressed enough during a week on trial with Rovers to be invited on their trip to the Sydney Festival of Football but, not ready to make a firm offer, he decided not to travel.
Teymourian is understood to have several suitors abroad but would still relish the opportunity to work with Allardyce again, having thrived under him at the Reebok Stadium.
Allardyce is also believed to be keen on attempting to revive his career and, with talks ongoing, his Rovers return has been far from ruled out with a short-term contract one possibility being discussed.
