Lancashire tin-top star Tom Boardman is making a guest appearance - along with his car - at the St Georges Centre in Preston this weekend.

Forton-based Boardman is contesting the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, and his home round takes place at Oulton Park in Cheshire on June 5-6.

Boardman is currently sitting sixth in the Independents drivers’ standings and 12th overall in the Championship.

The young driver, back in the UK after competing in the Spanish SEAT Supercopa series between 2006 and 2008 and the World Touring Car Championship in 2009, will be making an appearance and signing autographs at the St. Georges Shopping Centre, between 12pm and 1pm on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 May.

The Special Tuning UK team will be based at St. Georges Centre all weekend where, in addition to the appearance by Tom Boardman, his SEAT Leon BTCC car with its stunning Signs Express Lancaster liveried bodywork will also be on display. There will even be a free chance for visitors to the stand to win tickets to race day at Oulton Park which includes pit lane walkabout and paddock entry. Also on view will be SEAT specialists Hobin of Preston.

If you can’t make these dates, why not go along and show your support for Tom at Oulton Park. With three exciting British Touring Car Championship outings on race day, as well as support races including Ginetta G50s, Formula Renault, Porsche Carreras and Ginetta Juniors plus fantastic off-track entertainment including a fun fair, kids face painting and pit walkabout, a trip to Oulton Park in Cheshire is always a special event and shouldn’t be missed.
