Colne unleash pace ace Anwar Ali on East Lancs at The Horsfield in the Lancashire League tomorrow.

The Pakistani’s arrival was delayed by a training camp and hands a great boost to Colne, who have had a wretched start to the campaign and are bottom of the table.

Colne have a new captain in the shape of Matt Wilson, who has taken over from Jeff Ellis who has stepped down.

“I wasn’t enjoying it to be honest,” said Ellis. “And my game was suffering. It is hard work when you are bowling 15 overs and batting to then be in charge of the team.

“So Matthew Wilson has taken over and now I can concentrate on playing.”

That clash promises to be tasty as Ali, who finished his first season with 76 wickets from just 20 games, goes head-to-head with Queensland star Nathan Rimmington, who is filling in for East Lancs in the absence of Brendan Nash.

Burnley are in fourth spot despite being bowled out for just 30 last weekend and they will look to get over that shock when they face Enfield at Turf Moor tomorrow, while Church aim to follow up their stunning bowling show against Burnley when they travel to Todmorden.

Bacup host Rawtenstall in a tasty Rossendale derby, while impressive Nelson make the trip to Rishton.

Lowerhouse and Accrington meet at Thorneyholme Road in the other game.
