The QEGS golf team of James Holt Joey Lamb and Joshua Henderson are enjoying a great year after a fine performance at the National Independent School Golf Finals at Oulton Hall, Leeds.
After winning their northern region section, beating Ampleforth in the final, they came ninth out of 15th in the national finals with gross scores of 76, 78 and 80.
Recently, the QEGS team won the East Lancashire Team Prize at the Championships held at Darwen, and also reached the semi-final of the Lancashire Knockout after winning their East of County section, beating CRGS in the final.
l Baxenden and District Golf Club are hosting their Gala Festival Week of Golf, running from Bank Holiday Monday, May 31 through to Friday, June 4.
Open competitions are held throughout the week, starting with the Men’s Open 4-Man Team event.
