BURNLEY Reserves will split their home fixtures between Turf Moor and Accrington Stanley next season.

Stanley’s Crown Ground has been the home of the Clarets’ second string for the last four years.

But Burnley are looking to make more use of their new £750,000 pitch, which is currently being laid.

“Because of the finances we have put forward this summer for the main pitch that should enable us to have more games on that,” said manager Brian Laws.

“It’s harder wearing and therefore it will give us an opportunity to play a number of our reserve game at home, which should benefit everyone.”

Burnley had a number of home reserve games called off last season due to adverse weather conditions, prompting Turf Moor to be used for games against Liverpool and Manchester United.

The League Two club hope to avoid further problems by also investing in pitch improvements this summer.
