Burnley have been linked with midfielder Gavin McCann, who is a free agent following his release from Bolton Wanderers.
Charlton Athletic winger Lloyd Sam, who has missed out on a return to the Championship with the Addicks following their play-off semi-final defeat to Swindon Town on penalties, has also been rumoured to be on the Clarets radar.
However, Brian Laws is not expected to make any moves in the transfer market until June.
