STEVE Cotterill insists he's never been happier with the forward line at his disposal.

With 10 days remaining before Burnley's squad report back to pre-season training on June 30, Cotterill is still on the look-out to bolster his squad with new summer signings.

The Clarets boss is hopeful of adding strength in depth to key departments at Turf Moor, although he admits to being happy with the numbers in attack.

Summer purchases Andy Gray and Steve Jones are expected to lead the Burnley line next season, while Northern Ireland youngster Kyle Lafferty is fighting for a spot and transfer-listed Gifton Noel-Williams could still play a part if not sold on.

Despite big-money exits of Ade Akinbiyi and Robbie Blake over the past two campaigns, Cotterill is pleased with the forward pack he has assembled.

"I don't think I've ever been happier with the forward line since I've been here," said Cotterill.

"When I first came to the club I had Robbie Blake and Ian Moore. Ian moved on and Robbie moved on for big money.

"I would have been more than happy to keep Robbie but the offer was a very good one.

"Then obviously the offer we had for Ade was too good to turn down.

"So obviously, I wanted to get a couple of strikers in and now I have.

"I was pleased with what Andy Gray gave us towards the end of last season.

"Steve Jones will give us something different, he's got sheer pace and can really trouble defenders.

"I think we've also added another forward to the squad by working closely with Kyle Lafferty."

"You could argue that even though we've had players that have been good for us, Ade and Robbie, as regards numbers we are stronger now then we've ever been."

Gray scored three goals in nine Championship games for Burnley during his two-month loan stint from Sunderland towards the end of last season.

The 28-year-old arrived at Turf Moor from the Black Cats for £750,000, while Northern Ireland international Jones arrived on a free transfer from Crewe.
