ACCRINGTON Stanley's play-off hopes are fading fast after they slipped to a fourth straight defeat in this afternoon's League Two clash at Dagenham and Redbridge.

Stanley opted to make four changes to the side that lost at Bournemouth last weekend, with John Mullin, Johnny Flynn, Peter Murphy and Sean McConville all coming into the starting line-up. Darran Kempson, Luke Joyce and Jimmy Ryan dropped to the bench, with John Miles ill.

The Reds took a fifth-minute lead when Bobby Grant found the net from a McConville cross, but Paul Benson levelled for Dagenham just two minutes later.

Peter Gain then put the home side ahead four minutes before half time and a third followed from a Danny Green free kick in the 53rd minute.

The defeat leaves Stanley eight points behind the play-off places, with just one game in hand left, going into Monday's home game against Grimsby Town.
