ACCRINGTON Stanley fear that Leam Richardson may have already played his last game for the club.

Richardson has made only one brief substitute appearance this season and the former Blackburn Rovers full back may not complete his recovery from a hernia operation in time to figure in the final weeks of the campaign.

The 30-year-old has been a respected member of the squad since joining Stanley in 2005, but the club may find it hard to award him a new contract when his deal expires in the summer.

Ahead of today’s clash at Dagenham, assistant manager Jimmy Bell said: “He’s back in training doing bits and bobs but I’d be very surprised if he’s involved before the end of the season. I just don’t think he’s fit enough.

“His future is something we’ll have to address in the next couple of weeks, but for him to have a full season out with our finances is very hard for the club.”
