ACCRINGTON Stanley manager John Coleman has landed prime target Julien N'Da from French side Rouen.

Coleman has been tracking the Niort-born defender since he impressed in the post-season friendly at Clitheroe on May 1.

And his patience paid off when he unveiled the 20-year-old as his second summer signing on an initial six-month contract.

"I think he will fit in with the way we want to play," said Coleman, who has also secured Andy Todd on a 12-month deal.

"We want to be quite high tempo and encourage people to pass. Julien is comfortable on the ball, he is an athlete, he's quite good in the air and he's probably a bit deceiving because he's got good strength as well."

N'Da, who flew in from Paris yesterday, revealed how he had turned down offers from other English clubs, including Luton, to sign for Conference champions Stanley.

"Accrington is a good club with good ambition," he said.

And Coleman added that fellow Frenchman Rommy Boco, who signed a new two-year deal at the end of last season, was a big influence on the youngster, who has been involved with the Ivory Coast Under 21s set-up, joining the Reds "He is a friend of Rommy's. That will help him settle better."
