Blackburn Rovers are confident Michael Gray will sign a new deal with the club shortly.
The former Sunderland defender has been mulling over the offer of a two-year contract and further progress has been made', according to the club.
Hughes is keen to rap up a deal with Gray as fellow left-back, Vratislav Gresko, recently left the club on a free transfer after making just 35 appearances in three years.
