LANCASHIRE Raptors returned to winning ways with a 6-0 win over the Grimsby Redwings.
Roared on by the biggest and noisiest Arena crowd of the season, the home side took the lead on 15 seconds, Dan Etherington firing home from Chris Preston’s pass.
The young Grimsby side fought hard to restrict the Raptors forwards but Gary Meikle hit a hat-trick with further goals from Chris Preston and Mark Gillingham.
Gillingham took the MVP with another solid performance in right defence.
Graham Russell in the Grimsby net faced an incredible 78 shots from the Raptors attack and took the visitor’s MVP.
This win moved the Raptors to fourth in ENL North Two going into next weekend’s North West derby at Flintshire Freeze.
The Raptors return to the Arena on Saturday, October 24, when newcomers, the Sutton Sting, will be the visitors (face-off at 5.45pm).
