ACCRINGTON Stanley remain embroiled in a relegation dogfight after a nightmare first half in this afternoon's League Two loss at Aldershot Town.

The hosts had slid down the league in recent weeks but were 3-0 up at half time as they registered their first win in 10 games to keep Stanley in 19th place - nine points ahead of the relegation zone.

Stanley brought Chris Turner and John Mullin back into their starting line-up at the Recreation Ground, with Andy Procter and Sean McConville dropping out.

Robbie Williams was named on the bench for the first time since knee surgery in November but there was no place in the 16 for John Paul Kissock in the last match before the expiry of his one-month loan.

Aldershot went ahead in the 23rd minute when Kirk Hudson calmly found the net and Jake Robinson collected Andy Lindegaard's pass to make it 2-0 four minutes before half time.

There was still time for the Shots to add another goal before the interval, with Robinson beating goalkeeper Kenny Arthur to a loose ball and tapping home for his second goal.

Craig Lindfield scored his first goal for Stanley in the 62nd minute after Paul Mullin had headed down a cross from substitute Bobby Grant, but the Reds could not salvage a result.
