ROSSENDALE United boss Phil Eastwood insists his side must take encouragement from Tuesday’s draw against runaway leaders Durham City that they can climb up the UniBond Division One (North) table.

A six-match losing streak had seen the Stags drift into the league table’s bottom three.

But a determined 1-1 draw at home to Durham on Tuesday night stopped the rot, and United were unlucky not to have ended the north east club’s unbeaten record.

Eastwood has now called on his players to take faith from their midweek performance in to tomorrow’s trip to Garforth Town.

“Looking back at those six defeats, it was frustrating because we hadn’t played that badly,” said the Stags boss.

“But we let ourselves down by giving rubbish goals away.

“Drawing with Durham gives us something to build on now. My players should take a lot of heart from their performance.”

The Stags welcome back Marcus Calvert from a ban.
