ACCRINGTON Stanley are hopeful of luring Terry Gornell back to East Lancashire after he returned to Tranmere Rovers.

The 18-year-old striker was recalled by the Wirral club as cover for injuries, bringing to an end a fine two-month loan spell for Stanley, in which time he scored four goals from 11 appearances.

At one stage, Gornell bagged strikes in succesive League Two games against Bradford, Luton and Shrewbury.

But despite his return to Tranmere, talks are continuing between the two clubs with a view to bringing Gornell back to the Fraser Eagle Stadium in the new year, until the end of the season.
