A CLARETS legend has let his heart rule his head and donated an England cap to the place which houses his fondest memories.

Goalkeeper Colin McDonald, 78, decided to donate the cap he won for his international debut against the USSR in 1958 at the Lenin Stadium in Moscow.

Colin, who lives in Summerseat, near Ramsbottom, won a rousing reception from the Turf Moor faithful when he presented it to club chairman Barry Kilby at half-time during Saturday’s 0-0 draw against Doncaster Rovers.
