CLITHEROE will take their place in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup after a hard-fought victory at Leek Town last night.
After drawing 1-1 in Saturday’s match, Clitheroe took the lead in first half stoppage time when Craig Sargeson and David Hankin combined to set up Anthony Johnson, who volleyed home.
But the Blues were forced to play the last 40 minutes of the match with 10 men after Liam McManus was sent off for a second bookable offence.
But Neil Reynolds’ side hung on to book their place in the next round.
