CLITHEROE manager Neil Reynolds still has his sights set on an FA Cup run – even if the Blues have to do it the hard way.

Clitheroe stretched their unbeaten run to seven games on Saturday but, after being held to a 1-1 draw by Leek Town, must win in Staffordshire tonight if they are to book a second qualifying round trip to UniBond Premier League strugglers Frickley Athletic.

“Frickley are waiting in the next round and we will be doing everything we can to be going there,” said Reynolds.

“It’s a winnable game but first we have to overcome Leek, which will not be easy.

“They threw everything at us in the last five minutes on Saturday so we are perhaps lucky still to be in the draw.

“But we did not play at our best.”

Reynolds is expected to stick with the same side that played on Saturday after missing out on a move to bring winger Simon Garner back to Shawbridge.

Bacup Borough, 3-0 winners over Cammell Laird, are away at Sheffield FC in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup, while Rossendale head to Durham City.

Ramsbottom host Maine Road in the Vodkat Premier Division tonight, while Colne head to Atherton LR.
