Padiham were involved in another high-scoring game at the Arbories – but ended up on the wrong side.
Two goals from Paul Barrett for Padiham and a goal apiece for Leigh Skellern and Russell Dematteo left the half-time score at 2-2.
Ben Wharton put Padiham in front, but two goals from Duane Spence and one from Rob Adlington gave Eccleshall their win.
