BACUP Borough boss Brent Peters believes his team should already be mixing it with the likes of Accrington Stanley, Rochdale and Bury in the FA Cup.

“I think even in the early rounds everyone, apart from the top clubs, should be on an equal footing,” he said.

Instead, Bacup must win four more matches to have a chance of taking on League opposition and continue their odyssey in the first qualifying round tomorrow at home to UniBond League Premier Division strugglers Cammell Laird.

Peters was furious that his side’s mid-week league game against Squires Gates was postponed at the 11th hour but hopes that may now work to Bacup’s advantage.

“They were going to come and watch us and couldn’t so I think they might be in for a little surprise,” Peters added.
