COLNE hit the FA Cup trail again tomorrow with manager Nigel Coates insisting his team is in a ‘no-lose’ situation.
The Reds will be underdogs for their first qualifying round tie at UniBond League Division One South side Sheffield and have already eased some of the pressure at Holt House by winning through two rounds.
“At the start of the season we targeted winning a couple of rounds of the FA Cup and a couple in the Vase and if we do that we will have had a good start to the season financially. And we desperately need it,” said Coates.
After beating Darwen in the FA Vase in mid-week, cash-strapped Colne have banked £3,000 from the FA – a figure they would double if they could cause an upset at Sheffield.
“It will be tough. They beat AFC Fylde 4-0 in the last round, which was a bit of an eye opener,” added Coates, who will again be without injured captain Kieran Roberts.
