Accrington Stanley Juniors Under 13's have shown they are the Dutch masters when it comes to winning penalty shoot-outs.

For the super Reds travelled to Holland to take part in the Netherlands International Cup and returned home as spot-kick winners.

The started the first day with a 5-1 win over Irish team Iveagh and followed up with wins against teams from Canada and Holland.

Stanley qualifed for the semi finals with a 100 per cent record with a group game to spare.

The finals day saw the Reds complete their league program with a 5-0 win over Terenure to book a semi final place against Quebec Academy from Canada. Despite going a goal down, Stanley continued to play flowing football and ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Kane Drelincourt, Harrison Parrington and Kail Sturgess.

In the final they came up against another Canadian outfit, Red Star and although they dominated most of the game, Stanley couldn't break down a stubborn defence and the game finished 0-0 after extra time.

After both sides scored their first penalties, Stanley keeper Thomas Burrows saved the next one and further confidently taken penalties from Aaron Jones and Scott Duxbury made it 3-1 to the team from England.

The next penalty from Red Star went wide and the cup was Accrington's and the wild celebrations began.

It was a great effort from the Accrington Stanley team who scored 21 goals and conceded only 2 during their winning weekend.
