Saturday was a memorable day for Alex MacDonald who came on with 11 minutes to go to make his Burnley debut.
The 18-year-old second year apprentice even claimed an assist for Clarke Carlisle's goal in the 3-3 draw with Cardiff City.
"Alex came on and a couple of things nearly fell to him early on," said manager Owen Coyle.
"But it's just great to get one of your own, someone the supporters can identify with, on the pitch, and he did himself no harm at all.
"He was obviously nervous but he's a kid we like, he's got a lovely nature about him and we hope he'll go on and do very well."
