RAMSBOTTOM ended the 2007-08 with a whimper rather than a bang as they fell to a debatable second-half goal at the Riverside.
Whilst the visitors may have been the better side throughout the 90 minutes, the Rams will feel slightly aggrieved by the goal conceded.
A disputed throw-in went Glossop's way, resulting in James Acton receiving the ball just outside the Rams area and after advancing forward, he hit a low shot past keeper John Ogden to give his side the lead.
Apart from a 10 minute spell after Glossop took the lead, the Rams never really threatened.
United finish the season with just 37 points - their lowest ever points tally since entering the North West Counties League back in 1995.
