Neil Hodgson maintained his challenge for the AMA Superbike title with two fifth places in the second round in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Burnley rider overcame a terrible opening lap at the Barber Motorsports Park, clawing his way back from outside the top 10 on his factory American Honda.
Race two saw Hodgson make a late pass on Eric Bostrom to claim fifth again.
The third round of the championship takes place next weekend at the Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, California.
