JOHN Coleman admits he's already looking to next season after Accrington Stanley safeguarded their Football League status.

The Reds were assured of a third consecutive League Two campaign last weekend, but only after being given a helping hand from Rotherham.

While Stanley stumbled to a 2-0 home defeat to Barnet, the Millers beat Dagenham 2-1 to make Coleman's men mathematically safe.

"It would have been nice to have done it off our own steam and not to rely on other teams," said the Reds manager "But we've got two games to go and hopefully we can learn from this game and the next two games for next season."

With one eye on the summer, Coleman added: "My job has now started in getting together a squad of players right for next season - and to get the right players."

After conceding 80 goals this season - the worst record in the Football League - Coleman's top priority will be re-building his leaky defence.

He will also need to find another striker to help partner leading scorer Paul Mullin.

Stanley's final two games of the season are away to relegated Wrexham on Saturday, followed by a home clash against Bury on the final day of the season.
