Derek Egan is looking for a strong finish to the season as Rossendale United travel to local rivals Chorley.
United cemented their mid-table position on Tuesday night with a 2-0 home win over Radcliffe.
But while the Stags are safe of relegation this season - and out of the play-off picture - Egan is looking ahead to the new season.
Egan said: "We've got the luxury of knowing that we are not going down.
"I'd much rather be going for promotion at this stage of the season, but we've no chance. So we can afford to look at one or two things.
"Against Radcliffe (on Tuesday), we played one or two players in different positions than normal, and we played a different system, just to have a look at it."
Ahead of tomorrow's clash at Victory Park, Egan added: "Tony Hesketh is in a similar position to me at Chorley.
"They are safe for the season, but he'll want them to finish the season on a high."
Kyle Ingham (ankle), Adam Cook (knee) and Danny Finch (neck) are all out.
