OUR 1-1 draw at the weekend against Leeds could have created a little bit of history.

Tom Hutchison came on and got the goal for us and he's only 15-years-old, making him, I believe, our youngest ever scorer.

In our Under 18 league, teams can play three Under 19 players, so if we're playing a lad of 15, then that means he's giving away four years.

Sometimes that can be too much. In Tom's case, we just thought we'd give him half-an-hour or so, to give him a bit of experience and dip his toe in. But he did really well.

We are of the impression that, if they're good enough, then they're better playing, regardless of their age.

At the minute we're stretched a little bit because a lot of the Academy boys are in the Reserves team and that means we're having to play a fairly young side.

To be fair, that's the case with most Reserve teams, although Bolton, during the week, played nine first-team players.

If Glynn Hodges wants them for the Reserves, then we don't make them play both on the Saturday and the Monday, that would be a lot for them.

It's one or the other, but if they don't play for us, then it means it gives someone else the chance.
