Blackburn Rovers are continuing to monitor the progress of Heerenveen midfielder Michael Bradley, with a view to a possible summer move.
Hughes is thought to be a big admirer of the American and Rovers' chief scout, Mike Rigg, watched him play in the United States' friendly with Poland in midweek.
Everton are also interested in the £5m-rated midfielder.
