Rovers’ Championship game with Middlesbrough has been selected for Sky Sports coverage for the second time this season.

The sides played out a 0-0 draw at Ewood Park in November, a match also televised live, as was the meeting at Ewood in February 2018 that the visitors won 1-0.

That means Rovers against Boro will be shown live on Sky for the third time in five meetings.

The game has also been moved 24 hours to accommodate the live coverage and will now take place on Sunday, January 24 (3pm).

That is on the FA Cup fourth round weekend, with this fixture still going ahead after both were knocked out of the competition in the third round, Rovers beaten at home by Doncaster, and Boro away at Brentford.

The game is one of only four surviving Championship matches on that weekend, three of which are televised across three days.

By moving back 24 hours, it will give Rovers extra time to prepare following the January 19 fixture against Swansea City, with no game in the midweek following the Boro game.
