SAINTS are going to be getting one tough cookie in new signing NRL Joel Thompson from Manly Sea Eagles.
And we saw evidence of that came in August when social media showed pictures of Thompson’s horrific split tongue, after cutting an artery in the early minutes of the game against Newcastle Knights.
GRAPHIC WARNING: don’t see this one every day. Joel Thompson with a nasty tongue injury. Thankfully doubt it costs him time on the sideline 👅 pic.twitter.com/VrmRPevK52

But he played on with the gruesome injury for the next 76 minutes and then endured a two-hour bus journey back to Sydney before getting it stitched.
